Applications run from October 11th to October 22nd (Midnight, GMT+8)
Full schedule here

For first-time applicants
Step 1: Make sure you have read the guidelines for participation and that you agree to adhere to them. Sending an application means that you agree with all terms.

Step 2: Read this brief on our workshop structure which includes descriptions of our three paths -- reviews, expository essays and personal essays/creative non-fiction. Choose a path based on the type of piece you plan to submit. You must indicate your chosen path in your application.

Step 3: Compose an e-mail to thekpopworkshop@gmail.com with the subject line “Application” and include the following information:
Name
Blog URL/Writing affiliation(s)
Twitter Username and/or Facebook URL
Google ID (required)
Your Time Zone (ex., GMT+8, etc)
Your path choice (required)
A short paragraph introducing yourself and your writing experience

Things to take note of:
  • You do not need to submit a written work with your application. Submission guidelines and further details on the workshop mechanics will all be supplied during the workshop proper, however you must know what kind of work you will be submitting in order to select the appropriate path. However, we also recommend that you have a piece ready by the start of the workshop.
  • You may not change your path once the workshop begins. We have a set number of slots for each path based on the number of applicants in order for us to provide you with a high-quality workshop experience. You may choose any of the three paths, but your first choice is your final choice
  • The K-Pop Writers' Workshop is non-profit and 100% free.
  • Application period ends on October 22. Replies of acceptance and other information will be sent out no later than October 23.
  • We are strict about following the set timetable which can be found here. Applications we receive after October 22 will not be accepted as it is unfair to those who sent their applications on time.
For alumni of previous workshops

If you wish to join again please just check back in with us! Send us an e-mail at thekpopworkshop@gmail.com with the subject line “Alumni”, updating your contact information (e-mail, social networking), writing affiliations and fill us in on what you’ve been up to since your last workshop. If your workshopped piece was published after your time with us, please also include a link so we can keep it on file. Also indicate which of the three paths you wish to join.

Note that we will only accept e-mails sent within the application period and all application conditions still apply.
